Clivia Garden Tour in March 2006
The clivia garden tour will take place before the Annual North American Clivia Society Symposium and Show. The clivia garden tour will be informal. You will need to arrange your own transportation. Local clivia gardens will be open only at specified times. The schedule is now posted below. Each morning at 9 AM we will meet at:

Pre Symposium Tour:
- March 13, 2006:
- Eric Anderson Nursery. Eric is a grower in Luecadia with a large collection of Vic Daniels plants. Much to see.
- Quail Botanic Gardens. Beautiful botanic garden with plantings of many rare and unusual rare plants and large plantings of cyranthiflora surrounding a giant waterfall in a natural setting.
- Booman Floral in Vista is the producer of the famous Golden Dragon Clivia. The nursery comprises of 300,000 square feet of greenhouse space and is also the largest producer of finished Carnivorous plants in the world. A well a known grower of Begonias and has the largest Orchid growing facility in California. This will be a real treat.
- March 14, 2006:
- Loren Whitelock collection. Loren has a several million dollar collection of extremely rare palms, cycads as well clivia. Mostly planted in a natural setting within a natural canyon in Eagle Rock. This is a rare treat to be able to visit and is an extravaganza of delights. Loren also will be selling plants if requested.
- Don Todd collection. Don has a wonderful collection of clivia from mature to seedlinds. This is a must see.
- William McClelland collection. This is also a must see operation of thousands of seedlings to mature plants. A rare treat seeing how somebody with thought and insight can grow seed to mature plants in limited space.
- March 15, 2006:
- Joe Dana collection. This is a collection of many thousand clivia from seedlings to mature plants grown in a natural jungle seting of palm tree, tree fern, anthuriums, philodendron, etc. All planted on a hill side lot in the foothills of monrovia. This is a must see and comprises of what amounts to be the largest private, non nursery collection of civia in the United States.
- Rogers Gardens. Rogers Gardens is a high end retail establishment selling the premier high end specimen plants to common annuals. It is very upscale and extravagant.
- Norman and Candy Nakanishi collection. This is also an extravagant private collection of clivia as well orchids and other tropicals. This one is not to be missed.
Post Symposium Tour:
