NACS Student Judge Application
A
North American Clivia
Society judge is a person considered by the Judges
Committee to be qualified to pass critical judgments
upon the merits and demerits of Clivia species and hybrids. A
student judge is expected to participate in the training program, and upon
demonstration of satisfactory completion of this training, may be eligible for
consideration for appointment as a junior judge. The affiliated judging
committees make final decisions with respect to the appointment and termination
of services of student judges. A student
judges’ training period is a minimum of two years and a maximum of five years,
dating from the local clubs acceptance of the student at a duly called business
meeting. If a student judge fails to be advanced at the end of five years of
service in this grade, the student shall no longer be permitted to judge and he
or she shall be terminated as a student judge.

committee.

Be
able to make independent judgments and to maintain a point of view without
becoming contentious or defensive.
10.
Maintain
high standards of integrity and ethical behavior and avoid any conduct that
could be construed as unethical by an observer.
11.
Maintain
membership of the Clivia Society or one of its Affiliates; possess the current
edition of the Handbook.
12.
Be
able to meet the requirements of the judging system with respect to available
time, ability to travel, physical and mental fitness, and participation in
training and judging activities.
13.
A

14.

I have read and understand the fore-mentioned statements and
would like to become a NACS Student Judge.
